Position Summary :
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Step-Down Unit provides high-quality, compassionate care to patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing investigations. The RN utilizes strong critical thinking skills, clinical expertise, and teamwork to manage patients transitioning from intensive to general care levels, ensuring safe and effective outcomes.
Responsibilities :
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the Step-Down / PCU setting.
- Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies at all times.
Position Qualification :
One (1) year of recent Step-Down, Telemetry, or ICU experience in an acute care hospital required.Successful completion of Telemetry course / or experience in telemetry.Basic computer knowledge.Graduate from an approved nursing educational program as defined by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)Required Licenses / Certifications :
Current State (FL) Registered Nurse Licensure.American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.Must clear background and drug test required.
