Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, ARRT (M) and BLS certification for a 13-week acute care assignment.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care MRI unit equipped with one Siemens Aera scannerDepartment has 2 MRI technologists and a tech aide who assists with scheduling and screeningsPerform neuro, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, breast imaging, and breast biopsies with sterile tray setupAverage of 65 scans per day across a 24-hour periodMust be willing to work 12-hour day shifts on a 2-3-2 schedule from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM, with every other weekend rotationMay be required to work overnight as the only technologist in-houseNo floating to other departments is requiredUses EMR : Community Works and PACS : Intellirad / IntelliconnectResponsibilities include a wide range of imaging procedures including neuro, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, and specialized breast biopsiesBiopsy training is available if neededFive shifts of department-specific orientation with a preceptor are providedWork with support from an imaging director and manager; radiologist available on-site until 5pm, with on-call coverage after hoursScrubs may be any color if clean and professional; option to match permanent staff with emerald green scrubsWeekend and holiday work is required, including participation in a holiday call rotationFirst-time travelers are acceptedPrevious WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before re-applying, and maximum travel duration at WVU is one year before a required 2-year breakLocal travelers are not accepted and a 50-mile radius rule appliesRequirements
Minimum 1 year of MRI technologist experience requiredCurrent ARRT (M) and BLS certification requiredWV MRI License (can be obtained during compliance process); license required if applicableExperience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to multitaskProficiency in starting IVs is requiredMust complete WV CARES background screening prior to startBenefits
