LHH has partnered with an exceptional healthcare-focused organization in Reston, VA to identify an Accounting Manager! The ideal candidate will be a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the accounting department. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and continuous improvement of accounting processes. The Accounting Manager will supervise staff, manage month-end and year-end close, and support audits, budgeting, and forecasting efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily accounting operations including A / P, A / R, GL, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Maintain and update internal accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, conduct performance evaluations, and support professional development.
• Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings, including preparation of schedules and data.
• Perform variance analysis and provide insights to improve financial performance.
• Manage fixed asset ledger and ensure accurate reporting of capital expenditures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and other applicable standards.
