Environmental Services Tech I

The Environmental Services Tech I is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. The EVS Tech is responsible for ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention.

Responsibilities include :

• Completing daily occupied and discharge / transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and other common areas.
• Demonstrating a working knowledge of health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements.
• Displaying safe chemical use and equipment handling for all items within the healthcare environment.
• Adhering to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standards while promoting a culture of safety.
• Actively participating in departmental performance improvement initiatives, including those to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
• Maintaining cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment as outlined in the Standard Work cart set up.
• Removing waste and transporting to the appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream handling in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Following all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Education / Experience : High School / GED Previous healthcare experience

Required Licensure / Certification : None

Where You'll Work : The Woodlands Hospital, a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children's Hospital.

Pay Range : $15.00 - $18.32 / hour
