Job Details - OR RN Travel Assignment Estimated Weekly Salary : $2450-$2510 Assignment Type : Locum tenens, travel nursing contract Location : Springfield, Illinois (62702) - Illinois healthcare jobs Facility : Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 6 / 2025 - End : 1 / 5 / 2026) Shifts : 4x10-hour evening shifts (10 : 45am-9 : 15pm or 2 : 45pm-11 : 15pm, based on schedule) Hours per Week : 40 Weekend Requirement : 1 weekend shift per month On-call : Yes, approximately once per week Scrub Color : Provided Charting System : Cerner EMR Parking : Free with permit Required Qualifications - Operating Room RN Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room Registered Nurse experience (Level I trauma center experience required) General OR and trauma nursing experience required Experience in bariatric, general surgery, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urology, and trauma cases Strong emergency management skills (Code response, fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia) Proficiency with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources / cords, Hana tables Professional knowledge in blood product administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling / labeling, universal protocol, and urinary bladder catheterization Active Illinois RN license (or in application process) BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross only) CNOR and CST certifications preferred Travel nursing experience required Must reside at least 50 miles from facility Cerner charting experience preferred Key Responsibilities - OR Registered Nurse Deliver perioperative nursing care for diverse surgical procedures (all service lines except cardiovascular) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, etc.) to ensure optimal patient outcomes Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency situations Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and universal procedures Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR Support trauma and emergency cases, including amputations, gunshot / stab wounds, and multi-injury accidents Assist with specimen handling, blood administration, and operating room equipment management Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Springfield, Illinois, and take the next step in your travel nursing career as an Operating Room RN!
