Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Springfield, TN 37172 (Tennessee nursing jobs)

Healthcare Setting : Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) – MS2 & MS3 units

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : January 12, 2026

End Date : April 13, 2026

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : 3 shifts per week, every other weekend required

Unit Size : 27 beds per floor

Patient Ratio : 5 : 1

Modern Equipment : Computer on Wheels, Pyxis, Welch Allen vital sign machines

Documentation : Medhost (transitioning to Meditech EMR)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1530 - $1640 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state

BLS certification required

ACLS certification preferred

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Experience with post-operative and orthopedic patients is a plus

Ability to float between MS2 and MS3 medical-surgical units

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Dark blue uniform required

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to Med / Surg patients

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using EMR systems

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

Perform and assist with clinical procedures including blood transfusions, IV and central line maintenance

Collaborate with physicians, medical technicians, and unit secretaries to optimize patient outcomes

Educate and support patients and their families throughout the care process

Float between MS2 and MS3 units as needed to provide clinical support
