Associate, Finance Data Quality And Analytics
The department is seeking for a financial data experienced associate who mainly focuses on data quality over financial regulatory reporting data attributes / elements to make sure that the regulatory reports to various regulatory agencies are prepared timely, accurately and with complete appropriate data. In addition, this function requires to communicate and coordinate with various business functions external to finance and establish, support, maintain and continuously improve stronger regulatory reporting data governance. This role will also ensure compliance with data procedures with respect to time-to-remediate and data quality issues, as well as internal team expectations.
Responsibilities include :
- Execute and maintain regulatory reporting data analytics and data quality initiatives.
- Execute associated data initiatives, drive procedure operationalization and execution.
- Work across teams to translate regulatory requirements into implementable data controls.
- Ensure data quality compliance, and control for various financial regulatory reports according to company policy and standards.
- Report and monitor data issues related to data quality from regulatory reports. Work with stakeholders for root causes analysis and resolutions.
- Provide the forward-looking data analysis, presentations for MIS and analytics in support of Executive reporting.
- Facilitate project update communications and meetings.
- Develop templates, guides, and other accelerators to enable the team members to execute activities in a repeatable manner.
- Basic understanding of AI technologies and principles, such as supervised / unsupervised learning, generative AI, data labeling, model drift, algorithm selection, and model governance.
- Knowledge with AI platforms and tools, including but not limited to IBM Watson, or OpenAI, as well as data engineering pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate AI transformation roadmaps to both technical and business audiences.
- Demonstrated agility in understanding ambiguity and evolving AI technologies, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications and skills include :
4-7 years on data analytics, data quality, and compliance of finance or financial regulatory reporting.Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsExperience working on complex business analysis and cross functional projectsWith proficient IT skills including but not limited to various Microsoft applications, Power BI or SQL, is a plus.Demonstrate ability to challenge the status-quo and drive resultsKnowledge of various financial products, banking, or accounting (preferable)Team-worker with ability to work independently.Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Business or equivalent; MBA a plusSMBC's employees participate in a Hybrid workforce model that provides employees with an opportunity to work from home, as well as, from an SMBC office.
