Principal Associate : Change Process Lead (FS)

As the Principle Associate managing the change process for regulatory and non-regulatory requirements in Capital One's Financial Services Business Risk Office (first line of defense), you will be responsible for the ingestion of regulatory and non-regulatory requirements, engaging with key stakeholders to facilitate the applicability and implementation of new or changing requirements. You will establish and manage an efficient process, enabling delivery teams to engage in a frictionless and optimized way, providing transparency through key reporting and data analysis, while driving value for our business and customers. In this position, you will coordinate with other lines of business as needed, including 2nd line and 3rd line, to closely govern requirement changes in accordance with Capital One's policies and procedures. Additionally, you will collaborate with associates across all lines of defense in further maturing our risk management practices, creating order and sense out of complexity and uncertainty, through strong problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills.

In your role, you will :

  • Develop a deep understanding of Auto Finance business strategies, products, services, and risk profile;
  • Identify and assess the impact of the changing regulatory environment on business objectives and risk appetite;
  • Analyze data to proactively identify risks and trends and provide insights that support internal customers in decision-making;
  • Provide guidance and advice on implementing risk policies and programs;
  • Drive collaboration between the risk, compliance, legal, and other business support functions;
  • Ensure independent escalation of risk management gaps, issues, and concerns to executive management;
  • Identify opportunities to improve risk management practices and develop solutions to perfect risk management, eliminate waste, and deliver an exceptional customer experience;
  • Manage the process, governance and oversight for how new and changing requirements are addressed across the division;
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations

Tasks and responsibilities include :

  • Oversee the process and portfolio of all new and changing regulatory and non-regulatory requirements;
  • Partner with Vertical Risk Advisors to ensure all requirements are appropriately documented and managed in accordance with expected timelines and policies;
  • Conduct analysis, identify trends, and report on status;
  • Design and deliver regular training for Vertical Risk Advisors on their related role and responsibilities, program methodology, and the tools leveraged;
  • Identify and implement ways to improve and streamline processes;
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills, essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes;
  • Foster effective partnerships and collaborate with First and Second Line partners;
  • Participate in risk and other management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management practices;
  • Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on a periodic basis;
  • Use of data tools such as Google Sheets and Tableau, with ability to analyse data for trends and insights;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including developing and delivering presentations
  • Hybrid associates work in-office three days per week, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are enterprise-wide virtual work days.

    Basic Qualifications :

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent certification;
  • At least 3 years of experience in risk or process management;
  • At least 3 years working with internal business customers
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience;
  • 3+ years of experience in presenting to senior leadership;
  • 5+ years of experience in risk or process management;
  • 5+ years working with internal business customers
  • Plano, TX : $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Risk Specialist. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
