Environmental Scientist II

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist II to provide support for Water and Wastewater Program initiatives and projects. This is a full-time hybrid (on-site and remote) position located in Loudoun Virginia. The ideal candidate will have experience performing work for community water and wastewater issues in the municipal sector with the ability to work somewhat independently when given task assignments. This position will perform detailed analyses of environmental programs legislation policies regulations and potential liabilities; provide technical support on a variety of environmental initiatives and on water and wastewater systems serving facilities; and support in the preparation and presentation of information to the public such as a Board of Supervisors Commissions Committees organizations and the general public.

Essential Job Functions

• Provides technical support under direction of a supervisor to environmental programs. Will provide technical support research and report on an existing Water and Wastewater Assistance Program or Needs Assessment Work Plan make recommendations and coordinate efforts with other jurisdictions supporting in the preparation of presentation materials.
• Provides support under direction of a supervisor to water and wastewater strategic projects. Will work on community water and wastewater projects and coordinate completion of work products from varied departments and entities.
• Research and report on environmental legislation. Will review and evaluate environmental and energy related legislation; reports status of legislation throughout the General Assembly session; and completes written analysis and detailed reports.
• May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.
