Network Analyst

Delivers at a high level of competency Information Technology design and installation of instructional and administrative networks and the network infrastructure. Assesses and performs analysis on data and prepares data to facilitate Technical Services functions of organization. Responsibilities require understanding of both theory and practice.
Responsibilities
- Develops and applies solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and competency in Information Technology and Technical Services. Assist in the design, installation, configuration and upgrading of network systems.
- Assists in project planning, presentation and implementation; prepares and recommends network specifications to satisfy customer requirements; uses CAD to prepare technical drawings; obtains cost estimates; assists in developing installation schedules.
- Converses with management to determine type, scope, and purpose of analyses. May lead a team in the effort. Work with other analysts and management to complete assigned project work.
- Monitors performance of network systems; performs routine maintenance; troubleshoots and resolves computer network problems; documents problems and resolution; performs upgrades.
- Coordinates projects involving voice, data and security cabling installed by contractors.
- Inspects work in progress and at completion for compliance with applicable specifications, contracts, policies and procedures, regulations and standards of quality and safety.
- Deals with complex problems and provides solutions that are innovative and ingenious, achieving quality and work process improvements. May ensure that the workgroups goals and activities are in sync with and support the broader goals and objectives of the organization; and that the execution of responsibilities is in accordance to lawful and ethical standards.
- Analyzes, develops and implements ideas for improved network efficiency and effectiveness.
- Directs and assists in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned service, activities, and operations; provides for appropriate research and compiles reports, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science plus an additional 4 years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education / experience of 8 years. CCNA certification preferred.
Degree Equivalency Formula
Bachelors Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience.
Masters Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Masters degrees are required, years for Bachelors Degrees must be included.
