About the Role
The Company is seeking the inaugural Dean of the S.J. & Jessie E. Quinney College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. This role is pivotal in providing outstanding leadership and a dynamic vision for the newly formed college, which is deeply rooted in the land-grant mission of the institution. The successful candidate will serve as the chief academic officer, with a responsibility to honor past planning efforts and guide the college through cultural and fiscal transitions. A visionary, servant-leader with academic credibility, proven administrative experience, and the ability to unify and inspire is essential. The Dean will be expected to uphold the land-grant mission, cultivate a sense of belonging, and position the college as a trusted and innovative force in higher education and society.
Applicants for the Dean position at the company should have a strong academic background, with credentials sufficient for appointment to the rank of full professor, and possess a broad and interdisciplinary perspective across agriculture, natural resources, and environmental sciences. The role requires a leader with the capacity to understand and support growth in technical and professional programs that serve the community in innovative ways. Strong communication, advocacy, fundraising, and decision-making skills are also necessary. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of guiding the college through change with clarity, compassion, and courage, and will be committed to the development of education and training opportunities that strengthen the state's workforce and serve local needs.
