Job description

Deputy Chief Of The Office Of Executive Secretariat

As the Deputy Chief of the Office of Executive Secretariat, you will support the Chief in leading and managing office resources and strengthening the office's processes that have substantial impact on the agency's mission and objectives.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist the EXSO Chief in managing the office's daily operations and priorities.
  • Assist the EXSO Chief with creating, developing, and carrying out policies related to managing executive correspondence.
  • Provide direction, coordination, and oversight for both technical and administrative matters.
  • Manage short and long-term priorities and workload for staff.
  • Direct the operations and enhancements of agency's correspondence process and handling.
  • Build and maintain productive communication and collaboration across the agency.

  • Supervisory / Managerial Probationary Period : You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
  • Qualifications :

    The qualifications for this position must be met by 11 : 59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10 / 30 / 2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11 : 59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10 / 30 / 2025.

    GS-15 : You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties :

  • Providing administrative and technical guidance to staff to ensure compliance with applicable policies, established practices and / or regulations.
  • Making recommendations to improve the efficiency of the executive correspondence process or reviewing, approving and / or disseminating executive-level communications within an agency or organization.
  • Collaborating and liaising with stakeholders and senior-level leadership to further agency objectives and goals.
