Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Operations Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will manage network operations, incident response, and change management while collaborating with business and technical teams to optimize network performance. This role emphasizes operational excellence, continuous improvement, and proactive communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Network Operations & Service Delivery
Manage day-to-day network operations, ensuring uptime, stability, and performance across enterprise LAN / WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs.
Serve as the primary IT contact for network-related issues and coordinate with cross-functional teams to align operations with business priorities and SLAs.
Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for network outages or performance issues.
Track and report network performance metrics, MTTR, backlog health, and change success rates.
Change & Configuration Management
Plan, schedule, and execute network configuration updates, patches, and deployments in coordination with engineering and IT teams.
Ensure changes are compliant, documented, and communicated clearly to stakeholders.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to validate network solutions and maintain secure, reliable infrastructure.
Continuous Improvement & Automation
Identify opportunities to improve network performance, reliability, and efficiency through process improvements and automation initiatives.
Standardize network procedures and maintain compliance with company policies and security guidelines.
Implement operational best practices to reduce downtime, optimize performance, and improve end-user experience.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
Prepare and deliver network operations reports to management, highlighting incidents, trends, risks, and improvement initiatives.
Communicate complex technical information in clear, business-relevant terms to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Partner with business and IT teams to ensure network solutions meet operational and strategic goals.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Mentor and guide junior network engineers or NOC analysts.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high operational standards.
Coordinate cross-team efforts for major network initiatives, upgrades, and incident response.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in network operations, IT operations, or enterprise IT support.
Hands-on experience with network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and monitoring tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to drive root cause and preventive actions.
Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.
Excellent communication and reporting skills for technical and executive audiences.
Proficiency with ticketing systems and Microsoft Office; familiarity with collaboration tools.
Ability to work occasional evening / weekend hours as needed to support business and production demands.
Preferred Skills
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or operations environments supporting mission-critical networks.
Familiarity with network automation, scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell), and monitoring platforms.
Understanding of DevOps or ITIL processes for supporting reliable network changes and releases.
Experience leading or mentoring remote or cross-functional teams.
