Must-Have :Description :
Accurately administers external beam radiation therapy to patients according to the physician prescription.
Records all aspects of treatment and accounts for any deviation in the process.
Immediately notifies the physician or director of any error.
Performs start-up procedures for the linear accelerator and the simulator.
Consistently performs morning quality assurance.
Documents quality assurance and reports deviations of 5% or greater to the director or physicist.
Performs conventional and CT simulations in a reproducible manner.
Fabrivicates immobilization devices and custom blocking.
Mounts compensators accurately per field.
Prepares patients for treatment based on documentation from simulation.
Accurately completes photon and electron block fabrication.
Mounts 3D compensators as directed.
Performs field quality assurance for IMRT and compensator fields.
Documents patient setup and communicates deviation or problems to the physician.
Completes daily treatment according to the physician order and treatment plan.
Performs weekly portal imaging or IGRT as directed.
Accurately shifts patients as directed by the physician.
Maintains patient appointments within 5 minutes of scheduled time.
Schedules appointments appropriately and accurately submits documentation.
Interacts with dosimetry, retrieves DRRs, calculations, and treatment plans.
Attaches treatment plans to the patients' electronic chart.
Inputs and verifies accuracy of information recorded.
Verifies the presence of required documentation.
Notifies the physician if documentation is missing or inaccurate.
Performs weekly chart checks.
Assists the physician with on-treatment visits.
Documents height in inches and weight in kilograms.
Orders inventory and supplies and maintains stocked rooms.
Participates in chart rounds and tumor boards.
Practices all aspects of radiation safety and reports any machine malfunctions.
Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect service standard behavior guidelines.
Promotes patient safety standards as a core value of the organization.
Physical Demands & Job Conditions :
Heavy exertion is required, including moving objects up to 100 lbs occasionally, and up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 20 lbs constantly.
The worker may have contact with chemicals and infectious fluids.
This position involves heavy lifting, constant standing, extensive close work, and extensive computer work.
Encounters with upset or disturbed individuals may occur.
Physical motions include finger dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, talking, reaching, feeling, sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing, grasping, listening / hearing, and handling.
Lifting is required up to 50-100 pounds, with repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and feet.
OSHA Exposure Category 1 applies, which involves exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
