  • We are seeking a skilled Audiologist to join our team in Redding, CA. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring service members receive the best care possible.

    You will apply the principles of hearing science and audiology to formulate an Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) and / or independent medical exam to a unique examinee population. The scope of practice of the audiologist is to provide a professional opinion to the severity of the hearing problem, the diagnosis, the causation, and assessing the probability that the hearing problem is related to occupational exposure.

    The examinations may be completed in-person (in a clinic setting), in the examinee's home, telephonically, at large event settings for the Reserve Health Readiness Program or using telehealth platforms.

    You will be traveling (up to 50%) to provide physical examinations for veterans and service members in multiple locations throughout the country. All travel expenses are covered and a per diem will be received.

    Work Schedule, Location, What to expect :

    • Generally M-F, 8 working hour day (between 8am - 5pm), with weekend / evening schedules based on operational needs.
    • 50% national travel

    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

    • Administer and interpret a variety of tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment.
    • Evaluate test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational and conduct medical record reviews of past audiograms and documents.
    • Maintain patient confidentiality with written and verbal information per HIPAA.
    • Conduct otoscopic examinations, cerumen management, and calibration checks of audiometric equipment.
    • Lead paraprofessional staff training for Audiology-specific skills and certifications.
    • Completion of Veterans Benefits Administration Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs).
    • Competencies :

    • Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service and care to the claimants.
    • Analytical ability necessary to evaluate and render medical opinions.
    • Technically competent with computers / tablets to include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and using Electronic Medical Records.
    • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts
    • Required Qualifications :

    • Doctorate Degree in Audiology from an accredited college or university
    • Current unrestricted Audiologist license in the state where you will be employed
    • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and / or American Academy of Audiology (AAA) certification prior to hire. Reimbursement provided for selected candidates.
    • 3+ years of clinic practice experience.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain government clearances (LARS, Public Trust, NACI, etc.) as required.
    • Preferred Qualifications :

    • Experience conducting occupational / disability medical examinations.
