Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Overview :
We are seeking a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our virtual team supporting K-12 students across Minnesota. This fully remote role involves providing specialized instruction, consultation, and support for students with visual impairments to ensure they have equitable access to the curriculum and can achieve their IEP goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Deliver virtual instruction and services to K-12 students with visual impairments
Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and school teams
Provide guidance and training to general education teachers, support staff, and parents on adaptations, assistive technology, and accommodations
Participate in virtual IEP meetings, consultations, and team planning
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and progress notes in compliance with state and district requirements
Requirements :
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
Minnesota licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (or willingness to obtain)
Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments
Comfortable using virtual platforms for instruction and communication
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Knowledge of assistive technology and accessibility tools for visually impaired students
