The City of Tomball is accepting applications for the position of Streets and Drainage Serviceperson. This position is responsible for performing a range of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance, landscaping, and general upkeep of City facilities and systems. Focuses on ensuring streets, parks, and drainage projects are maintained efficiently and safely.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

Education HS_GED

Experience No previous relevant work experience is required.

Licensing Driver's License

Streets & Drainage Serviceperson 's role within the big picture of the City's overall success.

Streets & Drainage Serviceperson functions include but are not limited to the following.

• Street and Ditch Maintenance : Mow and trim streets and alleyways. Perform ditching tasks to ensure proper elevation. Install culverts and cover them with the appropriate material.
• Landscaping : Trim trees and edge sidewalks. Operate equipment for tree trimming and dispose of cut limbs through mulching or dumping. Ensure proper cutting of grass in ditches.
• Waste Management : Pick up loose trash in the city. Empty trash cans located on main streets.
• Sign Management : Repair and maintain city signs. Install new signs using post diggers and hand tools.
• General Repairs : Address discrepancies between driveways and streets (tie-ins). Conduct general labor work or repair as instructed.
• Equipment Operation : Operate various motor vehicles and maintenance equipment. Ensure all equipment is handled safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
