DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will evaluate both the physical and driving skills of applicants, as well as inspect the mechanical condition of their vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards. Your responsibilities will include administering various vision tests, such as telebinocular and color perception assessments. Additionally, you will assess the knowledge of both non-commercial and commercial driver license candidates through examinations, confirming their understanding of the Vehicle Code and traffic signs.
Your meticulous attention to detail is crucial in safeguarding against fraud as you review a variety of documents, such as applications, birth certificates, Social Security cards, marriage certificates, court documents, proof of residency, and those issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. State Department, as well as foreign documents for authenticity verification.

This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
All employees in this job hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
This position requires possession of an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the following end orsements : P and N. The Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions : E, L, N, O, or Z.
