Local Contract Pathology Assistant - $40-45 per hour

Apidel Technologies is seeking a local contract Pathology Assistant for a local contract job in Monrovia, California. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Pathology Assistant Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 12 / 01 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours Employment Type : Local Contract Position : Certified Pathology Assistant Duration : Project Starting With 06 months of contract and after understanding of instrument of facility, Work environment of facility & bonding with manager the project it will go to FTE. Location : Monrovia, CA Shift / Work Schedule : Will train on 3rd, once training is complete will work on 2nd until 3rd shift goes on FMLA then will move back to 3rd.

• 3rd Shift- 7pm-3 : 30am
• 2nd Shift - 2 : 30p-11 : 30p Pay Range : $40 / hr to $45 / hr in W2 without benefits. Certification : Pathology Certification is required. Required Skills :
• Grossing, small specimens, biopsies, small sections, derm, GYN, breast.
• Grossing experience is required
• Pathology Certification is required.
• Assisting the team in a time of need. Job Description :
• Perform complete dissection, gross description, selection and submission of tissue for microscopic examination and special studies following departmental guidelines.
• Follow the laboratory's procedure for specimen handling and processing.
• Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and procedures.
• Assist other areas rotations within the department with specified assignments in a timely manner after the assigned job has been completed.
• Ensure a professional environment is maintained.
• Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and work to correct or report the problem.
• Maintain high ethical standards and integrity in performing the assigned duties. Knowledge of hazardous waste management.
• Knowledge of personal protection measures and blood borne pathogens. Experience cutting frozen sections is desired. Requirements :
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related science.
• Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is highly preferred.
• No experience required with the completion of a NAACLS accredited PA program.
• Experience in a high-volume clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• High level of attention detail along with strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste management and personal protection measures.
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
