Our facility in Oxnard, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Harnessing Technician specializing in harnessing and related electrical assembly and test, with aerospace industry experience working on small, medium and / or large government and commercial programs.
Primary Responsibilities :
Review, interpret, maintain, and complete paperwork and electronic data associated with hardware assemblies to maintain data and material traceability.
Work with electrical harness assemblies, including interpreting schematics and building compliant electrical assemblies as well as conducting electrical tests such as continuity and insulation resistance.
Route wiring harnesses on flight hardware.
Follow procedure and direction from management as well as work from drawings or sketches, and collaborate with engineers to develop or proof new processes.
Perform soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, contact insertion and removal, harness routing and strain relief.
Work with structural bonding and application of coatings using various epoxy and silicone adhesive products.
Have a working level understanding of force, torque, and precision hand tools.
Determine optimum order of assembly for complex harnesses, mechanical structures, and devices.
Basic Qualifications for level 2 :
High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and / or related experience.
US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and schematics.
Ability to lift / push / pull up to 40 pounds.
Ability to be on feet for various hours each day.
Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules.
Preferred Qualifications :
J-STD-001 Soldering Certification (expired okay- current preferred).
NASA STD 8739.1 Certification (expired okay- current preferred).
NASA STD 8739.4 Certification (expired okay- current preferred).
Knowledge of ESD and Flight Hardware handling.
Demonstrated mechanical ability.
Familiarity with solar cell technology and CIC wiring.
Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.
Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.
Salary Range : $54,400 - $90,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
