Qualifications :
Must be at least 19 years old.
Have the 90-hour Certificate in EC (Preschool) or 45 hr. Child Development and 45-hour Group Leader Certificate (School Age) Have 90-hour Certificate and 45 Infant and Toddler (I / T), or CDA
Working towards a CDA or AA degree in Early Childhood Education.
Prior experience working in a licensed Childcare Facility Must have the ability to communicate in a professional manner to parents.
Must have the ability to be sensitive, nurturing and communicate with the children to their understanding.
Willing to get / maintain a MSDE credentialing level and will continue to work towards increasing the level.
Have ADA training, Basic Health and Safety and Covid training, Communication Training if no college and First Aide / CPR.
Must meet all requirements of the Licensing Agency.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :
The overall supervision and management of the classroom.
Planning, supervising and implementing the MSDE Approved Curriculum.
The program is to incorporate the children based on their individual needs.
All children are to be treated with respect and dignity.
Maintain a safe, clean environment and clutter free room conducive to learning.
Implement “hands on”, age-appropriate activities that allows children to learn.
Maintain current portfolios on each child (they need to be available for monthly review)
Attend and actively participate in all continuing education trainings, staff meetings, etc.
Teachers need to be up walking around the room unless there is a structured teacher / child project involved.
Teachers must always be engaged with the children.
Assist and attend parent meetings and company events.
Maintain confidentiality and a positive, professional attitude towards the center, parents, children, staff, visitors, etc.
Be supportive and loyal to the center and its policies and procedures.
Notify the director immediately if there is a problem, a concern or an issue about safety, children’s behaviors, or parent complaints.
Work closely with the co-worker to implement the daily lesson plans, planning of classroom activities, concerns within the room, etc.
Changing diapers, cleaning up children from potty accidents, proper cleaning of bodily fluids
Utilizing the Daily Cleaning and Daily Closing Checklist and helping with the general cleaning of the enter.
Use appropriate, positive discipline techniques.
