- Provide feedback to plant management on safety and environmental procedures, programs and polices which will assist in future revisions and increase their effectiveness.
- Startup, shut down and operation of steam turbine and boiler under the direction of the Control Room Operator.
- In cooperation with other Operators, detect mechanical or electrical problems and submit work requests for the repairs of these problems.
- Monitoring and reporting equipment conditions to the Control Room Operator.
- Work overtime as required to maintain operational staffing and to assist in maintenance or major outages.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Average computer skills, including word processing.
- Ability to read and interpret plant drawings and procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
- Ability to perform both operations and maintenance functions.
- Ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision and direction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for multiple audiences.
- Minimum 3 years in the operation and maintenance of power plants.
- Familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office Suite, including MS Word and Excel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid drivers license required.
- First Aid / CPR training desired.
- Be able to obtain Third Class Boiler Operations license within the first year of employment.
