ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Abilene, Texas (79606) – Texas nursing jobs

Healthcare Setting : Emergency Department (ED)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : December 1, 2025 (strongly preferred)

End Date : March 2, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : Contract requires 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks

Patient Ratios : 4 : 1

Unit Size : 26 beds, 22 rooms, daily census in the 70s

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700 - $1820

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state license required at submission)

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC

Experience with Allscripts charting system required; Altera experience preferred

Previous travel nursing experience required

Must reside at least 150 miles from the facility (per travel nurse guidelines)

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance

ER RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics)

Perform triage, assessment, and rapid response interventions in a fast-paced clinical environment

Administer blood products and emergency medications

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction / failure

Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG / ECG

Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy

Implement isolation precautions and manage ventilators

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, etc.)

Accurately document patient care using Allscripts EMR system
