Job Summary
The Business Developer is responsible for developing sales opportunities within their assigned territories by working with the operations team and building relationships with potential clients. An ideal candidate must possess strong social skills, be self-motivated, organized, detail oriented and have a competitive drive to develop leads and opportunities to close contracts and expand the company's growth. This position reports to the Director of Business Development and works closely with the Branch Managers, Central Estimators, and the Sales Team.

Duties / Responsibilities
Responsible for developing long-term relationships with current and prospective clients to further grow landscape businessEstablish target properties / clients through market research, canvassing, cold calling, building relationships and internal lead developmentQualifying the property / client, identify key decision makers, collect property intelCoordinate with Director of Business Development and operations to develop mutually beneficial proposal packagesWork with central estimating team and operations team to generate estimates in Aspire and ensure team has a full understanding of the scope of services and client's needs, budgets and timelinesManage Aspire and other integrated software systems to maximize sales performanceCreate and manage tasks to measure communication, meetings and information on new and pending opportunities and potential client leadsBuild and manage sales pipelinePrepare, submit and present proposal packages to clients and negotiate contractsDrive the end-to-end sales processEnsure a smooth transition from contract execution to operationsAttend and participate in sales meetings and operations meetings regularly to ensure mutual understanding of our strategic focusProvide weekly / monthly updates to management and operations teamAttend networking events, set up meetings with potential clients, and cold call regularlyManage expenses and budgetQualifications
Required Skills / Abilities
Must have strong verbal and written communication, detail orientated, organized, time management, ability to meet / exceed sales goals, positive attitude, honest, hardworking and have a team mentalityProficient with MS Office Suite, Aspire software knowledge a plusExcellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills and sales track recordKnowledge of sales cycle and solution selling techniquesThorough understanding of our companies' services / products along with a vast knowledge of the company's history, employee ownership, safety program and reputationProspecting techniques to create interest with prospective clientsAbility to speak and present professionally in group settingsEducation and Experience
BSc / BA in business administration, sales or relevant field preferred but not required3-5 years sales experiencePhysical Requirements
