Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Product Definition Supervisor responsible for the following, but not limited to :
- Lead a Product Definition Part Family team administratively and technically under the guidance of the Product Definition HPC Discipline Manager, whom the candidate will report to.
- Able to step in for the Product Definition Discipline Manager when needed and assist in organizing and managing task assignments & planning, manpower requirements and coordinating in-house and outsource resources.
- Performance feedback and results for the group. Train, Teach, Coach and Mentor Product Definition practitioners. Develop training plans for Analysts and Practitioners.
- Cradle-to-grave design support, from preliminary through detailed design, development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service.
- Provide product definition support for in service field investigations and provide support for multidiscipline teams to provide definition solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
- Ensure outsourcing work is completed, reviewed and approved by Product Definition associates with appropriate technical capability; coordinate with other groups to read across lessons learned, advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes / methods. Also documentation and communication of results to management.
Qualifications You Must Have :
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of product definition and / or aerospace engineering experience ORAdvanced degree with 5+ years of product definition and / or aerospace engineering experience5+ years of leadership experience in planning and executing engineering tasks within team environment.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringExperience with gas turbine components and in the design of fan or compressor hardware.Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials.Firm understanding of application of Geometric Tolerancing & Dimensioning.Experience in either development or production environment executing hardware designs.Capability to work and lead in collaboration with other non-collocated teams and the ability to work across functions, organizations, and all levels of management and to mentor and develop staff.Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles.Team leadership experience; strong analytical, problem solving and trending skills.Focus on results and driving tasks to completion as well as exceptional people and problem-solving skills.What We Offer :
