Description :
Summary : Supervises and coordinates volunteers and Assistant Site Manager engaged in delivering noon meals to homes of clients. Supervises and coordinates volunteers and Assistant Site Manager engaged in serving meals to clients at senior centers and senior living facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes friendly and motivational atmosphere for volunteers who are participating in the program.
- Congregate sites : Establishes a friendly and inviting atmosphere for participants. Supervises, coordinates, and assists in timely food preparation, set up, and service. Maintains a clean, sanitary site. Upon leaving, ensures site is clean and in good condition by making sure tables and counters are wiped down and floors are clean of spills and crumbs.
- Supervises and coordinates volunteers who deliver meals to clients’ homes.
- Adheres to and enforces proper food handling standards.
- Keeps accurate records and makes timely reports of client attendance, meal reservations, volunteer hours, and changes in volunteer status.
- Submits daily meal requests to Span office.
- Oversees recording, counting, and processing client donations.
- Submits timely accurate reports as required to the Span administrative office.
- Assists with client assessments as needed.
- Maintains good working relationships with other Span employees and employees of other agencies sharing facilities.
- Attends trainings and meetings as required.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Education and Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).Posses 1 year of related experience and / or training.Prior experience working with volunteers preferred.Required Skills and Abilities :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and to understand instructions in a variety of formats.Strong verbal and interpersonal skills.Ability to work comfortably in group settings and positively interact with various groups of people and individuals.Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm when dealing with a variety of personalities and situations.Exercise good judgment.Good project and time management skills. Able to work independently with little direct supervision.Ability to develop and maintain professional and positive relationships with clients, volunteers, employees, and the community.Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Outlook, database management, with the ability to learn and adapt to other software used in the position.Supervisory Responsibilities :
Direct reports include Assistant Site Managers.Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.Participates in hiring, training, disciplining, and termination of employees as needed.Assists Program Manager of Senior Services with coordinating and evaluating volunteers as requested.Work Environment :
Primarily indoors. Can be loud with distractions. Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, or smell. The employee is regularly required to sit and may have extended periods of using a telephone, computer and other electronic devices. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. The vision requirements include : ability to adjust focus, depth perception, peripheral vision, distance vision and close vision.
