Position Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Eric Greidinger, Associate Director of the Center for Innate Immunity and Inflammation, investigates how innate immunity—including STING signaling—shapes the development and tissue targeting of autoimmune disease, and how anti-self responses arise in cancer. The long-term goal is to develop innovative therapies for conditions that currently lack effective treatments.
The Researcher 4 is a PhD-level independent contributor with advanced expertise in immunology and translational research. This role emphasizes high-level scientific leadership, complex experimental design, and innovation in methodology. The incumbent will independently direct projects of significant scope, apply advanced technical knowledge to develop novel practices and solutions, and provide authoritative expertise to shape research strategy. The Researcher 4 may oversee the work of junior researchers and trainees, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the overall scientific direction of the laboratory.

The OSUCCC – James is home to a National Cancer Institute (NCI)–designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a freestanding cancer hospital. The Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) is a bench-to-bedside initiative focused on harnessing the immune system against cancer, with strong emphasis on collaboration and innovation.
