Job description

Inventory Analyst

Position will be hybrid - required to be in a plant location at least three days a week (request could increase on specific weeks) and will work from home the remainder of the week. Fifty to sixty percent travel - position will be required to travel to various plant locations across the division to assist with inventory. Typical Monday - Friday 8-4 or 9-5 schedule, but additional hours may be required as needed.

Position Responsibilities

  • Set inventory levels for Pratt Industries Retail Specialty locations to meet high customer demand.
  • Conduct analysis to anticipate and resolve potential problems.
  • Prepare and place orders from distribution centers and outside vendors.
  • Work with vendors to expedite shipments and resolve shipping issues.
  • Work with freight carriers to assure on-time delivery and resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist other analysts as needed.
  • Work safely at all times, be aware of surroundings and understand and comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules, operating procedures, and help hold co-workers responsible for safety related items. Participate in Plant Safety Committee.
  • Follow at all times GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes).
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary, sometimes on short notice. We serve our customers 24x7 365 days a year and sometimes work on holidays not avoidable.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three to five years purchasing experience.
  • Retail, packaging, grocery or industrial distribution inventory management experience a plus.
  • Detailed-oriented with an ability to analyze and understand large volumes of data.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Proficient with Excel spreadsheets. Proven AS400 experience preferred.
  • Language Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions, and training and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, and volumes.
  • Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram (graphic) form.
  • Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information or standardization exists.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands

  • Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, stand, and sit.
  • Vision requirements include : close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

  • Application knowledge and skill for computer data entry
