Certified Medication Aide Full-timeLocation :  2550 W Franklin Rd, Norman, OK 73069Schedule : 12-hour shifts | 8 : 00 AM 8 : 00 PM | Full-timePay :  $15.12$22.68 / hour (DOE)Classification :  Non-exempt (eligible for overtime per applicable law)OverviewThe Certified Medication Aide, under supervision of providers and licensed staff, assists in performing routine patient care duties to include medication administration, vital signs, providing patient care, and assists with inventory control and storage of pharmaceuticals items and supplies. Typical Duties : Prepare and administer prescribed medications to patients under supervision of licensed staff and in compliance with facility policies and Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy rules.Follow all policies regarding documentation and handling of narcotic medications.Document administration and non-administration of medications on the Medication Administration Record (MAR).Apply knowledge of drugs and therapeutics in dispensing and administering medication.Enter medication compliance into the health record as applicable.Follow all facility security protocols, including securing medication carts and maintaining situational awareness during med pass.Assist providers and licensed staff with taking vital signs, patient care during sick call and emergencies, and setup for minor procedures.Observe and report changes in patient condition; assist during procedures under supervision.Maintain a safe, clean clinical environment; obtain and store supplies; clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and PREA requirements.Support cost-effective, efficient healthcare delivery.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications : Current certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in the State of Oklahoma.Two (2) years of CMA experience preferred; one (1) year in a correctional setting preferred.Current CPR credential (or obtain upon hire).Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance issued by the Cleveland County Sheriffs Office (no credit check performed).Work Environment & Physical QualificationsSecure correctional healthcare environment with appropriate PPE and infection-control protocols. Role involves standing, walking, and transporting patients. Essential physical functions include moving / positioning patients and equipment and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbswith or without reasonable accommodation.
