Ability to read, write, and speak English. Basic computer skills. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies. Excellent time management skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Description : The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. The role involves practicing in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and leaders. Key responsibilities include performing the Nursing Process : assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Evidence-based practice and analytical / critical thinking are essential to ensure individualized care. Relationship-based patient-centered care is fundamental, adapting service delivery to reflect cultural diversity. Coordinating care through effective partnerships is expected while always prioritizing the patient and significant others. Nurses must practice using current clinical standards and support safe quality patient care through timely documentation. Collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner is vital to promote recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. Participation in performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance is encouraged. Professional development is essential, requiring ongoing competency assessments and education. This includes serving as a preceptor or mentor to ensure a qualified workforce. Upholding healthcare system policies and clinical competencies is mandatory, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards. Proactive planning for patient care across the continuum is part of direct patient care responsibilities.
