Job Details

  • MedSurg - Level 8 position at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, West Virginia.
  • Common diagnoses include Pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, Alcohol withdrawal, falls / weakness.
  • Nurse to Patient Ratios : 1 : 5-7 on days, 1 : 6-8 on nights.
  • Experience required : Must have 1 year of experience.

    • Job Requirements

  • BLS certification required.
  • RN License required.
  • Can take PCT class to become PCT, or can have CNA.

    • Schedule Information

  • Shifts : RNs 7-7, CNAs 6-6.
  • No self-scheduling or block scheduling; schedule made by manager.
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend.
  • Holiday Requirement : May be asked to go in the Holiday Rotation.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Common titratable & / or set rate drips : heparin, bumex, lasix.
  • RT will administer breathing treatments, inhalers, ABGs, and manage respiratory equipment.

    • Additional Details

  • # of Beds : 48.
  • Charge Nurse on each shift takes patient assignment on day shift; may not take assignment if only one charge nurse at night.
  • Floating and shift pull rotation may occur to other MS, MS-Tele, or IMC for lower acuity patients.
