Summary / Objective
This off shift position is responsible for supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing environment. The position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. The Supervisor is also responsible for supervising hourly employees in Sanitation environment focused on plant cleanliness / hygiene and food safety. Generally responsible for the plant during the shift.
Shift : 6pm-2 : 30am M-F, with weekends and OT when required

- Provide employee direction and required training to meet safety, quality, and performance standards and expectations;
- Enforce quality, regulatory, and operational policies and procedures;
- Maintain employee time and attendance in timekeeping system;;
- Maintain documentation and performance logs of employees; conduct annual employee reviews
- Communicate and direct production maintenance technicians as required;
- Conduct team meetings (daily / weekly / monthly as applicable), including team member participation;
- Support and mentor the Team Leads in enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), employee relations, scheduling, and operational objectives;
- Control expenditures within the department to maintain budget;
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and communicate results regarding safety, quality, and performance; implement corrective actions as required;
- Utilize Labware, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), inventory management system (SAP), and maintenance historian system to complete investigation corrections and maintain awareness of issues;
- Conduct and participate in continuous improvement activities and short and long-term projects;
- Assures inspection ready state of plant and equipment at all times. Participates and manages USDA and other regulatory and third-party inspections. Assure plant meets regulatory requirements at all time
- Support projects and trials as necessary and maintain proper documentation;
- Assure production lines start on time, reduce changeover and idle time, and manage overtime and staffing to achieve target labor costs;
- Monitor and reduce ingredient and rework usage, washouts, shutdown events, and product and chemical waste to improve packaging yield, and material losses;
- Works with Team Lead and, Maintains and updates the sanitation master plan, work instructions, teardown / inspection Preventative Maintenance (PM), and environmental scheduled tasks including documentation
- Reports results, issues, and activities each shift;
- Assures employee routine and required training to meet safety, quality, and performance standards and expectations including being trained and competent in confined space entry and ammonia risks and PPE usage requirements
- Enforce employee safety by assuring procedures are followed regardless of department or shift
- Work closely with the Quality department to assure that proper checks, documentation, and awareness is completed and maintained by all employees
- Responsible for planning daily production runs and Sanitation, meeting schedule requirements;
- Monitor and reduce Sanitation cost impacts through improvement of shutdown events, and product and chemical waste to improve product yield, COD impact, and material losses
- Coordinates chemical inventory and delivery
- Assures chemical knowledge, handling, and usage training of all plant employees annually or as required
- Maintain and train a competent team to operate specific lines for startups and shutdowns as required
- Maintains regular, predictable attendance

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent;3-5 years’ experience as production lead or supervisor in manufacturing;Proficient in Microsoft Office software;Leadership, problem solving, organizational, and strong communication skills.Preferred Education and Experience
