As a Security Officer - Education Patrol in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more.

As a member of the Allied Universal team in an educational environment, you will play a key role in helping to create a welcoming and secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. In this unarmed patrol position, you will conduct regular patrols throughout the campus, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. Your responsibilities will include monitoring assigned areas, responding to incidents, and assisting with access control and alarm panel operations as needed. Pay Rate: $14.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat08:00 AM - 05:00 PMSun10:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, helping to deter unwanted activity and providing a visible presence.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other access points to help maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Document and report any unusual activity, incidents, or maintenance issues observed during patrols.
• Work closely with campus personnel and local authorities as needed to address security-related concerns.
• Remain alert and attentive while on duty, adapting to changing conditions and needs within the educational environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
