Complex Pass-Through Tax Manager
Location : Atlanta, GA (Hybrid Preferred — Fully Remote Considered for the Right Candidate)

Compensation : $120,000–$200,000 base + Bonuses
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Complex Pass-Through Tax Manager to oversee advanced tax planning, compliance, and advisory work for sophisticated pass-through entities. This role is critical for managing multi-layered partnership structures, reviewing high-volume returns, and advising clients with annual gross receipts of $1M+.
The ideal candidate is confident managing complex K-1 allocations, multi-state filings, and tax research for intricate partnership issues. You will play a key leadership role, support staff development, and partner closely with clients on strategic tax solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex pass-through entity tax returns, including partnerships, LLCs, S-corps, and multi-tiered structures.
- Oversee clients with $1M+ in annual gross receipts, ensuring compliance and tax optimization.
- Lead tax planning and advisory projects, including entity restructuring, basis analysis, allocation methodologies, and multi-state nexus planning.
- Conduct and document technical tax research on partnership taxation, Section 199A, 754 elections, basis adjustments, and other advanced issues.
- Oversee and review calculations for partner capital accounts, basis tracking, and distributive share allocations.
- Provide ASC 740 support for pass-through structures (as applicable).
- Mentor and coach staff; manage workflow, engagement timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with partners and leadership on client strategy and growth opportunities.
- Support tax audits and communicate with tax authorities as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred.CPA required (or JD with extensive partnership tax experience).5+ years of progressive experience in pass-through entity taxation — partnership expertise is a must.Demonstrated experience with complex, high-value ($1M+ gross receipts) entities.Strong technical knowledge of Subchapter K, allocations, basis, multi-state returns, and partnership tax planning.Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills.Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.Prior experience in public accounting or a multi-entity tax environment strongly preferred.Preferred Skills
