Eligibility Technician 2 (PCN 068674M)

What You Will Be Doing

• Part of the Public Assistance Eligibility Team focused on helping Alaskan families statewide reach higher levels of independence and self-sufficiency.
• Determine eligibility for a range of state and federal assistance programs, such as Medicaid, SNAP, Heating Assistance, and Cash Assistance.
• Interview applicants, review their financial and personal information, and apply program rules to determine their eligibility.
• Make accurate and timely decisions in line with policies and regulations.
• Initiate authorization of benefits for services and other supports for applicants who are determined eligible.
• Work across multiple computer interfaces in this position.

Who We Are Looking For

Education and Experience

One year of entry-level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska, or one year performing similar work with knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations. Post-secondary education in fields such as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, or related areas may substitute for experience (undergraduate credits : 2.67 semester / 4 quarter hours = 1 month).
