Duration : 5-month contract Job Description : Develop and deliver mechanical equipment designs and layouts using AutoCAD® 2023 and Inventor 2023, ensuring compliance with company drafting standards. Produce and maintain detailed drawing packages, build packages, machine part lists, illustrations, and equipment specifications for production systems. Assemble comprehensive machine design packages by reviewing and updating existing packages, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation. Redesign mechanical components to reduce installation costs, resolve equipment interferences, and correct design deficiencies. Review, redline, and oversee updates to installation documentation and drawings, collaborating with drafting teams to resolve design issues efficiently. Execute design changes to address equipment or process challenges, ensuring all designs meet functional and performance requirements. Perform elementary design calculations (e.g., statics, hydraulics, power transmission) to support both new designs and modifications of existing systems. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project managers to ensure designs meet project goals and customer expectations. Provide detailed sketches and marked-up drawings to address evolving project needs. Experience : Expertise in preparing complete drawing packages, from assembly to detailed drawings, for industrial equipment. A minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Skills : Proficiency with AutoCAD® 2023, Inventor 2023, and related CAD software tools. In-depth understanding of mechanical drive trains, electrical and pneumatic actuators, and system integration. Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experience interpreting pneumatic and electrical schematics. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication, to ensure efficient and practical designs. Education : Associate’s degree (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
