  • Healthcare Setting : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)\n
  • Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract\n
  • Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026)\n
  • Shift : Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07 : 00 – 19 : 30)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Patient Ratios : 1 : 1–2 in PICU, 1 : 3 for intermediate care\n
  • Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend; must be available for 2 of 3 holidays\n
  • \n\nPICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience required\n
  • Active New Jersey or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)\n
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; NIHSS preferred\n
  • EPIC charting experience preferred\n
  • First-time travel nurses accepted\n
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate\n
  • Ability to float to adolescent, pediatric, PHOC, and NICU units as needed\n
  • \n\nPICU Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU\n
  • Perform advanced clinical skills : CVP, CVVH, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation / management, PEWs, insulin administration / pumps, NG tube placement / management, IV therapy (ports, a-lines, central lines, PICCs), procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, EVD, VP shunt, ICP monitoring, HFNC, ETT, ventilator / trach management, renal failure care, peritoneal dialysis, wound care, and trauma response\n
  • ECMO experience preferred\n
  • Float to adolescent, pediatric, PHOC, and NICU units as assigned\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes\n
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC\n
  • Adhere to hospital policies, attendance, and compliance standards\n
