Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CA license, Epic documentation proficiency, and care for high-risk OB patients.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care setting
  • Care for a diverse and high-risk obstetric patient population
  • RNs are required to circulate on cesarean sections
  • Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week (18 : 00-06 : 30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals
  • Uses Epic EMR, experience required
  • RNs will provide labor, delivery, and postpartum care to diverse and high-risk OB patients
  • Scrub attire is any solid color, typically royal blue or navy
  • Free parking provided initially, with assigned parking during orientation
  • Travelers are expected to float between all affiliated facilities as needed
  • Return staff policy requires a 3-month waiting period before returning as a traveler
  • All RTO requests must be declared during the application process
  • Pre-start and annual modules are required and completed independently

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Certifications required : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Epic EMR documentation experience required
  • Two supervisory references from within the last three years in a comparable specialty / setting
  • Applicants must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for eligibility as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Pending CA RN licenses not accepted
