Scope of work

Responsibilities

As a Journeyman Plumber at Momentus Field Service, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of plumbing services for commercial properties throughout Virginia. Your core duties will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures such as faucets, toilets, showerheads, garbage disposals, urinals, and water heaters. You will handle minor and extensive pipe leak repairs, perform drain cleaning and clog removal using standard tools and hydro-jetting equipment, and conduct sewer camera inspections (CCTV) for diagnostics. Leak detection using moisture sensors, thermal imaging, or acoustic tools will be part of your investigative tasks. You will be expected to reroute piping, install backflow preventers, sump pumps, and ADA-compliant fixtures, as well as support the installation and maintenance of commercial water heating systems and booster pump systems. Requirements

1.  In general, plumbing work requires comprehensive training and hands-on experience, typically gained through a formal apprenticeship or comparable education and practical background

2. Journeyman Plumbers license for the state of Virginia or reciprocity state.

3. 1 year of experience

4. Backflow certification is preferred but not mandatory

5. Must have and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license and a clean driving record, as required by company policy, in order to operate company vehicles or equipment related to the job

Work Environment-

Unlike retail or pharmacy settings such as Walmart, Dollar Tree, or CVS, where employees work indoors with customers, our plumbers spend most of their time in the field. This includes :

Variety of Worksites – Plumbers work in homes, businesses, construction sites, and occasionally outdoors.

Hands-On Work – The job involves installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and water systems.

Active & Physical – Work often requires lifting, bending, crawling into tight spaces, and standing for long periods.

Problem-Solving Environment – Each job site is different, so plumbers troubleshoot and adapt to new challenges daily.

Team & Independent Work – Some tasks are completed solo, while larger projects require collaboration with other plumbers, contractors, or construction crews..
