Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Summary – Registered Nurse (RN) Shift : Day (3x12) | Contract : 13 Weeks (Guaranteed Hours) Facility Type : Select Medical – Inpatient Rehabilitation Overview : The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. The RN promotes patient and employee safety, delivers quality care, and ensures positive patient outcomes in alignment with Select Medical’s Core Values and the “10 Foot Circle of Safety.” Key Responsibilities : Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans. Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, and discharge care from admission through discharge. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses. Communicate patient status and changes promptly to physicians and interdisciplinary team members. Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff, ensuring safe and efficient unit operations. Participate in weekly team conferences and discharge planning. Uphold all safety protocols related to infection control, patient handling, and environmental hazards. Serve as charge nurse as assigned after orientation. Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education. Requirements : BLS certification – required ACLS certification – required Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience – required.
