GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker provides manual labor support for the Parks Department and works collaboratively with all other full-time staff to perform department operations during peak season, and ensure that they meet the principles and objectives of the City of Rogers. The position is generally part-time but work hours can fluctuate based on Park use. Minimum schedule availability of ten (10) hours per week required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs maintenance and repair tasks necessary to provide safe parks facilities for the public. Many of the tasks performed are of a skilled nature such as lawn mower and weed eater operation, and turf care.
2. Performs routine cleaning of parks spaces including restrooms, trash/debris removal, brush and tree removal, and trail cleaning.
3. Prepares sports fields and properties for competition, including open and closing procedures.
4. Promotes positive public image to citizens through excellent customer service.
5. Performs other duties as assigned by the Parks Superintendent or Department Director.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Experience working with machines and equipment preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Under general supervision where standard practice enables the employee to proceed alone on routine work, referring all questionable cases to supervisor.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Frequent contacts with general public, patrons, or other outside representatives, wherein the manner of handling these contacts has a bearing on the organization's position and operation. Contacts occasionally with others beyond immediate associates, but generally of a routine nature.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Outside working environment, wherein there are disagreeable working conditions part of the time. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions; and occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, vibration. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

Highly repetitive, moderately physical. Highly repetitive type of work which requires somewhat diversified physical demands of the employee. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms; frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and occasionally required to sit, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED, or currently enrolled. General knowledge of standard practices, materials and tools used in a park environment.
UNIQUE EXPECTATIONS
Any job with a municipal parks department requires the employee be prepared for a flexible work schedule. This position will require evening, weekend, and some holiday work.
