City of Joy International (COJI) equips and mobilizes followers of Jesus to elevate communities out of poverty through Christian education and development —in close partnership with Joy Christian School in Rwanda.

Role Summary

This is a ministry position focused on equipping and mobilizing individuals and churches to participate in God's mission. The Mission Impact Manager will (1) lead sponsor onboarding, care, and retention, (2) build and nurture church / school / organizational partnerships, (3) coordinate sponsorship-related church campaigns, and (4) help tell student impact stories that encourage prayer, giving, and going.

Key Responsibilities

Equip & mobilize : Invite, train, and support sponsors, church partners, and volunteers to engage meaningfully in the mission.

Sponsorship program leadership : Onboard / train new sponsors; encourage engagement; design / execute retention strategies; run sponsorship-related campaigns.

Church & partner engagement : Identify and cultivate new church / school / organizational partners; nurture existing partnerships in collaboration with the board; represent COJI at events.

Storytelling & donor communication : Collaborate with Rwanda staff to gather student stories and impact data; create donor updates and social posts (FB / IG / TikTok); support email campaigns (Mailchimp).

Travel & cross-cultural service :

International : 2 trips / year to Rwanda (~14 days each). One typically June / July to support short-term teams; one to lead donor or mission trips (timing varies).

Domestic : Up to 4 trips / year (church visits, conferences).

Teamwork : Work closely with the board, volunteers, marketing team, and Rwanda-based staff; attend weekly in-person team meetings in the Phoenix area.

Spiritual & Professional Qualifications

Spiritual

Mature, growing relationship with Jesus; alignment with COJI's Christ-centered mission and values.

Heart to serve cross-culturally with humility and dignity.

Professional

Strong relationship-builder and communicator (written / verbal); confident presenting in churches and small groups.

Organized, self-directed, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred experience in sponsorship / donor relations church partnerships missions mobilization , or community engagement

Helpful tools : Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Facebook / Instagram / TikTok, Google Workspace, Zoom, REACHapp (donor mgmt), Canva, WhatsApp

U.S. work authorization, background check, and valid passport (or ability to obtain within 60 days).

Salary band & placement

Hiring range : $40,000–$47,000 . Placement within the range is based on :

(1) experience in sponsor / donor engagement, (2) leadership of church / partner campaigns,

(3) cross-cultural fieldwork or mission team leadership, and (4) proficiency with the tools above.

Benefits : Paid time off; all work travel covered . Hybrid schedule (remote + weekly in-person).
