Medical Malpractice Defense Paralegal – Knoxville Law Firm

A Knoxville-based law firm is seeking an experienced  Medical Malpractice Defense Paralegal  to join our litigation team. This in-office position requires a motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is comfortable supporting multiple attorneys within a collaborative team of paralegals and legal assistants.

Position Overview :

We are looking for a paralegal who can hit the ground running with a strong understanding of medical malpractice defense work. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and adaptable to the ever-evolving legal and technological landscape.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage medical record requests, organization, and summaries
• Assist with preparation of pleadings, discovery, and trial materials
• Utilize courtroom technology and electronic exhibits for hearings and trials
• Coordinate and attend virtual meetings via Zoom and Microsoft Teams
• Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and document management systems
• Accurately track and record billable time
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to support case needs

Qualifications :

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in medical malpractice or complex civil litigation

Proficiency with medical terminology and understanding of healthcare documentation

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Technologically proficient with modern litigation tools and video conferencing platforms

Self-starter with the ability to adapt to change and evolving court requirements

Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset

Work Schedule and Benefits :

In-office schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.
