As part of our Orthopedic Clinic, this position involves rotating weekends and occasional evenings. We are looking for an adaptable and empathetic Radiology Imaging Technologist who can deliver exceptional diagnostic imaging for our patients and providers.

Job Summary :

The Radiology Imaging Technologist at Sanford works across various settings, including clinics, hospitals, emergency departments, and operating rooms. You will be involved in multiple fields like fluoroscopy, surgery, orthopedics, and general radiology. Precision is crucial in this role, as providers depend on high-quality imaging for accurate diagnoses. There are opportunities for professional advancement into modalities such as CT, MRI, and Mammo.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations on patients to produce quality diagnostic images.
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures as per provider requests.
  • Implement radiation safety guidelines and maintain proper radiation protection practices.
  • Navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system efficiently.
  • Conduct basic diagnostic radiology tasks while adhering to general radiology protocols.
  • Perform mobile imaging, electrocardiograms (EKG), cardiac monitor placements, and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Qualifications :

  • Completion of an educational program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection is essential.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is mandatory.
  • If working in North Dakota, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is necessary. South Dakota candidates must obtain ARRT certification within 60 days of hire.
  • In Iowa, a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health is required.
  • For certain clinic locations, obtaining a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required within the first eight weeks.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment is necessary, with re-certification as needed.
  • A driver’s license may be required, depending on the department.
