MedStar Emergency Physicians (MEP), part of MedStar Medical Group, is comprised of nine top-tier emergency departments in the mid-Atlantic region. We are committed to practicing state-of-art patient-first emergency care and furthering our specialty through the development of innovative programs in emergency preparedness, information technology, transport medicine, event medicine, tele-medicine, emergency ultrasound, critical care, sports medicine, and health care policy. MEP is home to the Georgetown / MedStar Washington Hospital Center Emergency Medicine Residency Program and supports various tracks of academic appointments through Georgetown University School of Medicine.

MedStar St. Mary's Hospital is nestled in the waterside community of Leonardtown, Maryland and is a full-service hospital, with cutting edge imaging services, delivering state-of-the-art emergency, acute inpatient, and outpatient care. St. Mary's Hospital has been a part of the Southern Maryland community for more than 100 years. A refresh of the Emergency Department (ED)'s main lobby and waiting area has recently been completed. The ED treats approximately 45,000 patients annually with an admission rate of 22%.
