The Industrial Engineer establishes and improves work systems by studying and optimizing facility layout, workflow, and operational processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop labor standards by analyzing work samples and methods and measuring work performance.
- Improve labor utilization by studying work methods; testing modifications; designing new methods; recommending job restructuring.
- Improve workflow by studying process flowcharts; recommending modifications in workflow, workstations, and product; develop new procedures; recommend equipment modifications and purchases.
- Reduce waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommend changes; establishing procedures to identify and analyze waste.
- Implement work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
- Prepares work analysis reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Recommend and assist with work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.
- Maintain operations guidelines by writing and updating policies, procedures, and methods.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Lead and manage projects to improve or facilitate changes to operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline.Three years' experience in anindustrial / manufacturing
environment .
Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and procedures.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills required.Ability to occasionally travel to supplier and customer locations as needed.J-18808-Ljbffr
