This opportunity is full-time at 36 hours per week, offers full benefits and a Day shift schedule. There is opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested.

Job Requirements :

• One year college required, graduates of an approved histology program preferred.
• Applicants must be certified by ASCP or equivalent as HT (Histology Technician).
• Five (5) years minimum experience working in a histology laboratory required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills required.
• Good computer skills with Microsoft Office applications required.

Role and Responsibilities

Performs with a high degree of skill, routine and special histology and cytology procedures. Provides work leadership to the other histology personnel with regard to technique, accuracy and professionalism. Responsible for instrument function and maintenance, test development, quality control, employee training, inventory control and writing new policies and procedures. Works with the MIS department to keep all policies and procedures updated in the LIS and under the guidance of the department Director, trains section personnel on the use of the system. Assists in the administration of the section and provides input in the selection of equipment for capital budget process.
