Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include :

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) is looking to hire summer interns for the SRPPF project for 2026. This Internship opportunity is for undergraduate students currently studying an engineering discipline.

Opportunities Include :

Electrical Engineer

Civil Engineer

Mechanical Engineer

Geotechnical Engineer

The hourly base rate of pay for this internship starts at $18.00 and may increase based on major and class standing.

Required Qualifications

Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5. Must be a full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university, or within one year after finishing a degree program. Must have completed freshman year of college. Must successfully complete Savannah River Site General Employee Training and substance abuse processing.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and / or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
