ER Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : New Haven, CT 06510 (Connecticut nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (October 31, 2025 – January 30, 2026)

Shift : 3x12-Hour Nights (19 : 00 – 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Healthcare Setting : Level I Trauma Center, Short Term Acute Care

Charting System : Epic

Guaranteed Hours : Yes

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Orientation : 36 hours

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1990 - $2130

ER Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Connecticut RN license required (pending license accepted)

Minimum 1.5 years of recent ER nursing experience in a Level I Trauma Center or prior travel nurse experience (2 years preferred)

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, TNCC (or TNS)

Preferred certifications : CPI, NIHSS, PALS, ENPC

Proficiency with Epic charting system

Travel nursing experience required

Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs

Not accepting local candidates (must reside more than 75 miles from facility)

One professional reference required

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Manage patient ratios averaging 1 : 6 during both day and night shifts

Provide care for trauma, stroke, and chest pain cases in a Level I Trauma Center

Perform IV sedation, ICP monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, and ventilator care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Float between campuses as needed (excluding trauma / rescue rooms, triage, and locked behavioral health units)

Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start and annually
