Echo Vascular Sonographer
Position Summary
The dual registered echo / vascular sonographer performs adult echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, EKGs, Holter monitors and vascular ultrasounds while utilizing Doppler and color Doppler on the cardiac and / or vascular structures. The registered sonographer will be responsible for assisting with interventional procedures, drainages, etc. while using sterile technique under the direct supervision of the physician. Ultrasound procedures are performed frequently without immediate supervision, but in accordance to standards approved by the Medical Director. The sonographer may be required to assist with other echo / vascular clinic procedures and even assist with patient related tasks, as assigned by management, during imaging downtime. The staff member will be required to maintain imaging areas, equipment, and inventory. Maintains open communication and accessibility to providers and other clinicians, as needed. Participates in patient education, positioning, and patient protocols, as warranted within clinic setting. Sonographer may be required to rotate and / or assist through one of the SJC outpatient / inpatient centers as a part of their job duties and responsibilities. This position requires an on-call rotation with other department members.

ARDMS or CCI registration
